Difficulty index = how far each class's median score sits from that class's typical median for the discipline, averaged across the field and weighted by class size. It is in percentage points of targets broken, so −8 means the field broke about 8 fewer targets per 100 than usual for their class. Adjusting by class keeps a Master-heavy field from making a shoot look easy.
